Zero Mission helps small firms get real work out of Claude and ChatGPT. Most of what we make starts with AI: the website copy, the knowledge packs our assistants answer from, a good share of the code. That is deliberate, and it only works because a person reads every piece before it reaches anyone.

AI first, with a human in the loop. The AI drafts, tests and suggests. People decide what is good enough, keep it true to what we stand for, and keep quality and security in front of everything else. These roles are those people.

We are hiring independent contractors for two roles. Plenty of people will be a fit for parts of both, and a mix is welcome. Tell us which parts are yours.

Quality and Safety Reviewer

You are the co-pilot on everything the AI produces. You read it, run it and try to break it, then steer it back toward our strategy and our standards.

What you will do

• Run the simulations. Practise with our knowledge packs the way a new hire at a client firm would. Check that answers are right, that the firm's own process comes through, and that questions about what the law requires are referred to a person instead of answered.
• Review what the AI wrote. Pack content, website copy, assistant answers. Is it coherent, accurate and in our voice? Does it hold up against what we actually sell?
• Protect people's privacy. Our packs keep real places and remove real people. You check that no customer name, contact or personal detail survived.
• Test that it works. The public site, the client portal, and the assistant connected inside Claude and ChatGPT. Every role, every step a real person would take.
• Think like an attacker. Try to see what you should not: another firm's records, an action above your role, an answer that leaks. Report what you find clearly enough that it gets fixed the same day.
• Steer the AI, and write the steering down. When a tool drifts from our strategy or our values, correct it and record the correction, so the next draft starts from it instead of repeating the mistake.
• Test for everyone. Other languages, screen readers, keyboard only, slow connections, small phones.

You are probably

• A careful, sceptical reader who notices when something is almost right.
• At home in Claude and ChatGPT, and clear about where they are strong and where they are not.
• Good at writing a problem down: what you did, what you expected, what happened.
• Curious about security, even if it is not your title.
• Fluent in a second language, which is a real advantage here.

Designer and Editor

You make everything we ship look, read and feel like one company, and you make the AI's first drafts ours.

What you will do

• Design the website and the portal. Make them clear, fast and genuinely good, for owners who are not technical and do not want to become technical.
• Design for the chat window. Much of what we build is used inside Claude or ChatGPT, not on a page. Help shape how an answer reads there, how setup flows, and what a person sees when the assistant does not know.
• Edit what the AI drafts. Make it plain, specific and honest. Cut the jargon. Keep one voice across the site, the portal and the assistant.
• Build in more than one language from the start. The site is English today. Help us design and write so that translation is part of how we work, not something bolted on later.
• Hold the accessibility line. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA. You make sure new work meets it.

You are probably

• Able to show both: layout and type you are proud of, and writing you are proud of.
• Comfortable working close to the product. We use plain HTML and Tailwind with no build step, and design that can be shipped beats design that has to be rebuilt.
• Someone who uses AI tools to go faster and knows when to stop trusting them.
• Experienced with, or eager about, designing for more than one language and culture.

How the work works

• Independent contract, remote. Hours vary from month to month with what we are shipping. We agree a rate with each person.
• Behind the scenes. Client relationships stay with Zero Mission's founder. You make the work excellent; you are not the account manager.
• Confidential. You will see how our clients run their businesses. That stays with us.
• What you make for us is ours. Work done under contract belongs to Zero Mission, which is what lets it serve the next client too.
