For nonprofits
Free for nonprofits. Your events run on what a few people know. Put it where everyone can find it.
A registered nonprofit gets its own guide in the Zero Mission app at no charge: how your events and programs actually run, answered on the phone of every board member and committee chair who leads them.
The problem every event has
The annual fundraiser happens once a year. The person who remembers how it works may not be back.
A board turns over. A new chair takes the silent auction. Registration goes to someone who has never done it. What worked last year lives in one coordinator's head, an old email thread and a binder, so the same questions reach the same few people every week before the event.
Volunteers give their time gladly. What wears them down is not knowing how things are done, and not wanting to ask again.
The kind of question it answers
- How do we check in a guest who paid at the door?
- Who approves a donated item for the auction?
- What goes in the thank-you letter, and when?
- Where are the table plans from last year?
- Who do I call if the venue has a problem?
What you get
The same guide a firm pays for, set up the same way.
-
An hour or two of discovery
How your event or program really runs, where it goes wrong, and what people keep asking.
-
Your documents, organized
We gather what you already have into your own Google Drive or SharePoint, where it stays yours.
-
The people who lead
Your board, committee chairs and whoever runs each part of an event, from the account they already have.
-
Better with every question
What the guide can't answer comes to you to answer, and we add it to the guide.
The guide lives in the Zero Mission iPhone app (App Store). It answers right away, even with no signal at the venue, and hands an answer to whichever assistant someone already uses: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot. A volunteer working a one-hour shift doesn't need it; they ask their lead, the way they always have.
Your records stay yours. The guide holds how things are done, not your donors or the people you serve. Those stay in your own systems.
Who's eligible
A registered nonprofit, wherever you are.
- Registered: a 501(c), or the equivalent where you are.
- More than one person: a board, committees, or people who each lead part of an event or program, so what one of them knows has to reach the others.
- Something that recurs: an annual event, a season, an ongoing program. A one-time idea isn't a fit yet.
We started close to home, with nonprofits we know, but there's no reason it has to stay local.
Why it's free
Because it does real good. It's also honest marketing: the people who lead nonprofits often run businesses of their own. If they find it useful at your fundraiser, some will want the same for their firm, and we'd be glad to talk when they do.
Your nonprofit doesn't pay, and you don't have to sell anything for us.
Tell us about your nonprofit
Your nonprofit's name and where it's registered, the event or program you'd start with, and who leads its parts. We'll come back with how we'd set it up, or tell you plainly if it isn't a fit yet.
